Child Soldier

The founding project of Combined Creatives. In 2013, Dominique Vleeshouwers and Vincent van Kekerix teamed up to tell the story of a child soldier through a performance of music, film and fine arts. They gathered a team of around 15 people, from filmmakers and producers to stage designers. This is when they saw the magic of collaborating with different disciplines, and decided to continue this style of creating. Combined Creatives was born.

A flash mob on Amsterdam’s Dam Square marked the official launch of the project: 120 wooden child soldier puppets filled up the square, and supported by musical performances, we introduced our project to the press. Willemijn Verloop, founder of War Child, launched the project officially. The project ended with a concert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, which took place in April 2013.
